A national tutoring movement

You retired from work. Not your purpose.

America's students need more than tutors. They need steady, wise adults who can help them solve math problems, life problems, and the problem of believing in themselves. No teaching license required. Background check included.

Why tutor

A child remembers one steady adult. Be that one.

You don't need to still be in the classroom. You need to know how to show up, listen, and believe in a young person who is still figuring it out.

Purpose, on your schedule

Most tutors give 1–3 hours a week. The relationship is what changes a life — not the volume.

Wisdom that travels

Decades of experience meet a student who needs steady, honest guidance — academic and personal.

Training that respects you

OWL certification gets you ready in plain language. No jargon. No condescension.

A movement, not a gig

You're joining a national chapter of retired educators who refuse to retire from purpose.

A tutor helps with homework. An ARTF tutor helps a child believe they can win at life.

Faces of the movement

Wisdom, passed hand to hand.

FAQ

Plain answers. No jargon.

Do I need to be a certified teacher?
ARTF places certified retired educators. If you spent your career as a licensed classroom teacher, you're exactly who we're looking for. OWL certification prepares you for the platform itself.
How much time does it take?
Most tutors give 1–3 hours per week. The relationship matters more than the volume.
Will I have to pay for anything?
No. The background check, OWL certification, and the platform are free to you.
Is there a stipend?
Where available, stipends are voluntary and structured to comply with applicable laws, tax rules, and school policies.
How are students kept safe?
Every tutor is background-checked. All contact happens on the OWL Platform. Child-safety and mandatory-reporting training is completed before you're ever matched with a student.
What if I'm not great with technology?
The platform is built for retired educators — large type, clear buttons, simple steps. If you can use email, you can use OWL.

You've still got one more in you.
